Singapore – 29 Oct 2025, Miss Universe Singapore 2025 Annika Xue Sager will represent Singapore at the 74th Miss Universe competition in Bangkok this November, carrying with her the pride and spirit of a nation celebrating 60 years of independence. Ahead of her departure, Annika will be officially sent off at a media event on Sunday, 2 November, 3 PM at Changi Airport Terminal 2.

This year’s national costume, designed by Josiah Chua, pays homage to Singapore’s rich cultural heritage. The striking red ensemble, created in celebration of SG60, is a modern tribute to unity in diversity, intricately crafted from textiles representing the Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Eurasian communities. Each layer symbolizes connection, resilience, and inclusivity, echoing the collective spirit that defines Singapore.

“Singapore’s story has always been one of transformation,” says Josiah. “I wanted to capture that energy, how our differences come together to create something powerful, progressive, and beautiful. The costume is not just about heritage, it is about evolution.”

Complementing this is Annika’s official evening gown by Digio Bridal, inspired by Singapore’s identity as the Garden City. The exquisite creation blooms with delicate orchids, a graceful homage to the nation’s most iconic flower. Flowing layers of sheer fabric form an ethereal silhouette that moves like a gentle breeze, while cascading floral appliqués in soft lilac, blush, and violet hues reflect the lush vibrancy of Singapore’s tropical landscape. Every detail celebrates the harmony between nature and modernity, capturing the essence of Singapore as a city that flourishes with beauty, elegance, and innovation.

Annika, who is of mixed Singaporean Chinese and German heritage, embodies the modern face of Singapore: global-minded, confident, and deeply rooted in her culture. A master’s student in Luxury and Fashion Marketing, fitness instructor, and advocate for inclusivity and sustainability, she represents a new generation of women who balance strength, intelligence, and authenticity.

“As I represent Singapore on the world stage, I hope to showcase the heart of who we are – diverse, resilient, and always evolving,” says Annika. “Both the national costume and evening gown remind me of our ability to stay grounded in our roots while embracing the future with grace.”

The Miss Universe Singapore 2025 Send-Off Event will take place on Sunday, 2 November, 3 PM at Changi Airport Terminal 2, where media and invited guests will gather to wish Annika well before her departure to Bangkok.
